For more than 30 years we have been supporting charitable and social organisations in Liechtenstein. Over this period, we have continually extended the range of beneficiaries; now numbering 19 institutions. Moreover, our sponsoring activities encompass the following long-term commitments:
We are proud of our long standing partnership with FC Vaduz.
For ten years, we have been the main sponsor of the FC Vaduz first team. In 2008, the team was promoted to the Super League, the highest division of the Swiss football league. This partnership generates a great deal of public interest and significant media presence for us in our core markets of Liechtenstein and Switzerland.
A market research study carried out in 2008 showed that every second person questioned in Liechtenstein knew that the LLB sponsored top-class football. And the result was similar in the German-speaking region of Switzerland. In response to a question about which companies sponsor football, the Liechtensteinische Landesbank was one of the eight most mentioned firms. About 20 percent of the people questioned knew that we are sponsors of FC Vaduz. In Liechtenstein this was the case with an impressive 48 percent of the persons surveyed. On the basis of this market research study, it can be said that the level of recognition of the LLB as a major football sponsor is high to very high.
As a partner of the Vaduz Light Athletic Club, we are the main sponsor of the «Städtlelauf» organised by the club. This run through Vaduz is aimed at the general public and aims to motivate as many people as possible to run for the benefit of their health.
Liechtenstein Medical Association
We attach great importance to fostering a high level of healthcare.
For the last two years, we have supported the Wednesday forum of the Liechtenstein Medical Association, and thus contributed to sustaining a high level of healthcare in Liechtenstein and the adjacent region. Each year eleven such forums are held, at which specialist doctors are present and discuss current health issues.
The «NetzWerk» is a social institution set up in 1990 to support the prevention of addiction, violence and suicide. On behalf of the public sector and private companies, it develops corresponding projects and implements them in schools, local communities and companies. At its website www.helpmail.li, the association offers psychological advice, which can also be obtained anonymously. We have supported this electronic helpline since 2002 as the main sponsor.
The Liechtenstein Adult Education Foundation is a public law foundation. It is tasked with planning, promoting and coordinating adult education in Liechtenstein, and utilising the resources approved by the government in accordance with the law. The Foundation is the largest provider of adult training courses in the region. Its offer ranges from language, computer and handicraft training to events and courses in art, history, philosophy, psychology and sport, as well as educational trips and excursions. We have supported this important institution since 2003 as the main sponsor.
«aha – tips and information for young people»
The Youth Information Centre was set up on 17 December 1999 and has its head office in Schaan. The Centre helps young people help themselves.
We offer young people not just banking services, we are also committed to supporting constructive leisure activities for them. Here our sponsoring activity – already in its sixth year – focuses on three major projects: «Holiday job exchange», «Longing for summer» (vacations for young people) and «Holiday fun» (courses for children and young people).
The «Holzkreislauf», which was set up in 2000, is an association of forestry engineers, sawmill owners, carpenters and woodworkers. Its goal is to promote the use of wood products from sustainable forests in Liechtenstein. For this purpose, the association has created a special award: the most innovative timber construction projects undertaken in Liechtenstein by architects, engineers, public and private construction companies are awarded a «Wood Oscar».
As the main sponsor, we have supported the aims of the association since the beginning and therefore made an important contribution to promoting the timber industry, which has a long tradition in Liechtenstein.
Vaduz Film Festival
We are committed to supporting cultural projects such as film festivals, little theatre and operatic productions.
For 14 years the Vaduz Film Festival has delighted lovers of open-air cinema. And we have been the main sponsor of this annual event right from the start. The festival's thrilling, entertaining and thought-provoking programme enriches local and regional cultural life every summer.
The «Schlösslekeller» Little Theatre in Vaduz celebrated its fifth anniversary in October 2008. It is dedicated to organising cabaret, readings, exhibitions and narrative theatre performances for a lively cabaret scene in Liechtenstein. Besides international celebrities, local artists frequently perform. The Little Theatre also offers young artists an ideal stage to demonstrate their talent and flair.
Balzers Operatic Society
The Balzers Operatic Society has been a very popular fixture of Liechtenstein's multifaceted cultural programme for decades, and is well known far beyond the Principality's borders. High-calibre productions are staged in which both well-known artists and performers from the region appear. As the main sponsor for many years, every summer we invite the public to a «Matinee im Hof», where songs from the latest production echo through the bank's inner courtyard to launch the new operatic season.
Our events «im Hof»
Under the title «Jazz&Blues im Hof» we have been organising concerts and various events in the inner courtyard of the bank's head office in Vaduz since 1996. Above all, these events provide outstanding bands and talented young musicians from the region with the opportunity of performing in a special atmosphere in front of a large audience.
In addition, our «Culture im Hof» programme offers a platform to clubs and associations with which we have a sponsoring relationship. In 2008, we organised three events, one of them with the Intercultural Education Association, which fosters the integration of foreign language speakers and cultural exchange.
